Cappy’s Tarbuck” was so named by the famous Artist and Author John McKim.  Captain Marc Wren developed the fly for trout  and redfish around the panhandle of Florida.. After presenting the original fly to Mr. McKim, John developed an illustration/description, and featured the fly in the May 2003 issue of “Western Outdoors” magazine. Mr. McKim’s web site, which can be found on our links page, has the illustration available for purchase.

Mr. John McKim is a retiree of 37 years in the architecture and engineering field. He now devotes all his time to outdoor writing and illustrating. John and Joan McKim live in the San Francisco bay area.

You may purchase the original fly encased in one of our matted black shadow boxes. An example of the Original “Cappy’s Tarbuck” in our special box can be seen at the bottom of the page.
